I think is more of a prequel. Sothis apears in Three Houses as a ''Child'' because something in the past happened for her to have that appearence. But she was an ''adult'' before she appears as a ''Child'' in the Three houses lore. (I'm talking like this because I don't want to give spoilers of three houses).
