I married a MAGA who beat the life outta me. I ended up in ICU with half my face now totally deformed. This mental illness IS a threat to the human race. You and I left our abusers the same time. I tried to warn America when my x told me they were going to kill people on Jan.6th but Facebook removed my comment on the 5th. Complicit. Sad for people that died. I was silenced afterward as well. Silencing people only makes our nation worse. Imagine if the poway women aka my neighbor KNEW there were death threats if Facebook had not removed my post? Nor did they reach out. Today my life is free of his trauma but I fear for other victims he has lined up. These victims families will be mad when they learn WE WERE SILENCED!!!

I think itās important to note that the phrase "to pull oneself up by one's bootstrapsā initially meant doing an impossible/futile task, because itās literally impossible to lift yourself by your own bootstraps š« so the people saying ā just dig deep and lift yourselfā¦ yada yada.ā Are telling those less fortunate to do something impossible.*

I too am a former member of the church. This was really hard to watch yesterday because the building this happened in was my former stake center. I have attended so many meetings in that building. I went to so many youth dances as a chaperone. Twenty-nine years of my life there. And now it's gone. It just breaks my heart knowing that I knew people who were in that building when this happened. I saw it on the news here on YouTube about an hour after it started. The name of the man who did this was not even known, let alone anything about him, and already people were blaming the "other side". Why does everything have to be political? Why not just mental health? So many were saying that mental health couldn't be blamed again. Why not? Would a person with no mental health issues do such a thing? I just don't understand it.š¢

Itās critical to remember that pulling yourself up by your own bootstraps was originally said ironically, because at that time everyone understood that it is physically impossible to pull yourself up by your own bootstraps (think about sitting on your butt, pulling on the little straps that help you pull your boots onā¦ not physically possible). We literally culture-worship an impossible task as the baseline acceptable minimum we all expect to achieveā¦. We are dumbasses.

You are 1,000,000% correct in our system financial or health system. You have to be homeless first to get the help you need. Iāve been there same thing after my divorce. I need a healthcare and financial help and they wouldnāt help me because I was sporadically making two $300 here and there driving Uberso yeah I didnāt qualify because I was working so the people in the system literally play God when they can actually help you, but they donāt
