One time, I got a warning doing 72 in a 55 while driving through Idaho.

The cop who pulled me over asked "do
you know fast you were going?"

I said "65." I know my speedo was off, but it said 65.

The cop replied, "Close, you were doing 72."

He then asks, "Do you know what the speed limit?"

I said "65."

he said"close again, it's 55."

I told him the last sign isaw said 65.

The cop replied "see that freeway sign about a mile back, it's says 55 right after it."

I replied, "By any chance did you clock me when I was passing an orange tractor trailer?"

The cop said, "Yes."

I told him ''look, I admitted to speeding, but I think it's fair to say i didn't see the 55mph sign."

The cop asked me, "Are these new tires?"

He asked because it still had injection numbs on the side walls. I told him "yes" despite them being a year old.

The cop asked if they recalibrated my speedo when they put the tires on. I told him "well sir, if I thought I was doing 65 and you say I was doing 72, I think it's safe to say they did do that when they put the tires on."

The cop told me he would be right back. When he came back, he said, "I have some good news for you."

I asked if he was going to give me a ticket for doing 65 in a 55 instead of doing one for 72.

He said, "Close again."

I looked him in the eyes and said "look if these are going to be multiple choice questions, you need to give me a warning."

He busted out laughing and said, "No, I'm going giving you a warning. It's 55, until you get to X, then it's 65. Stay below what your speedometer says."

I told him thank him and was on my way. About a 1/4 down the road, I took the exit to a gas station to grab a drink and top off while he drove past.

About a mile down the freeway, I saw him again with another driver pulled over. I honked my horn and waved. The cop recognized my truck and waved back. The drive he had pulled over stared, confused at me. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
