Edith Ma'am retired from the Government of Rajasthan as a Nursing Tutor in 1999. She had lost her husband in 2001 and was surviving on the pension she received from the Rajasthan government.

In 2014, she received a call from conmen posing as IRDAI officers, informing her that a sum of Rs. 7 lakhs was held in an insurance policy issued in her husband's name by Life Insurance Corporation of India.

She was told that the LIC policy had lapsed and that she could only claim the sum of Rs. 7 lakhs from the LIC policy if the policy was reactivated by paying the required premiums.

She was asked to invest Rs. 35,000.00 in any private insurance company to activate the LIC policy. She followed the conmen agent's instructions, which began a never-ending trail in which she was asked to deposit a sum of money in various insurance policies from a variety of companies. In total, she was issued 21 insurance policies by six insurance companies, and she was conned out of Rs. 15 lakhs.

Insurance Angels has been working on this case since 2016, and we were able to resolve 14 ICICI Prudential policies in 2016.

Following that, ICICI Prudential filed a false criminal case against me, and I spent a month in Judicial Custody from September 26th to October 25th, 2016.

The false case was finally dismissed by The Hon'ble High Court of Rajasthan on January 16, 2018, but I had expended a lot of energy fighting the false case filed against me and was thus unable to follow up on Edith Ma'am's case.

She continued to follow up and never lost faith in me. With her positive energy, I went to work on the remaining 7 policies, which were issued by 5 different insurance companies, and I was able to completely resolve all issues in February 2022.

I'd like to express my gratitude to the Hon'ble Insurance Ombudsman Office in Jaipur, as well as to Late Mr. M.S. Joshi, Ex OSD, Grievance Department, IRDAI, for their assistance in resolving all of the cases to Edith Ma'am's satisfaction.
