I didn't see the rewind knob move as you wound the advance lever on. In the camera shop I work, we see many blank rolls of film coming back from the lab because the leader slipped out of the spool. ALWAYS confirm the film is indeed moving into the spool by gently winding the rewind crank until you feel resistance. You will always know your film is properly loaded if the rewind crank turns every time you advance the film. That dreaded AE-1 squeak is easily addressed by any competent shop and makes the entire experience of using the camera much more pleasant and satisfying.

No need to shoot the third time, you're already on a good unexposed frame, in thsi way you should be able to get at least 37 pics on a 36 exp roll :)

Funny, I used to think these little how to videos were kind of silly but I was looking at it from the perspective of someone who's done it 1,000 times. I try to remember not everyone grew up using film like I did.
