⁠I have a plastic bird bath thing that includes a light socket inside the basin for a light bulb. It gives off just enough heat to keep water from freezing solid.
Perhaps there’d be a way to mount water dish in the heated side of this without it becoming a mess?
Other than that could devise some electrical heat source under a metal bowl.
Just another diy engineering challenge. 😊
Also, nice to have those thermal panels in the heated side, but think they should be on the lid as well if it’s not, to reflect the heat which rises and escapes.
I’m also thinking a double roof with an air gap might be practical. Snow, rain, sleet could be in the outer roof while the inner one stays dry. And the inch or so air gap between them would be excellent insulation. Just an idea
