Saw one when i went to the pima air and space museum. Absolutely horrendous looking thing. Very neat aircraft though.

In the 60s my older brother was in the Civil Air Patrol, one weekend his unit was informed that if they so desired they could go to the airport to see the Guppy up close as it was in town to transport one of the Saturn Five sections built at North American Aviation. We checked in at the Air National Gaurd gate and Dad drove our 59 Chevy to the location as he worked at Douglas Aircraft. We pulled up an piled out, two guards asked a few questions and we could gawk to our hearts content at a reasonable distance, my Mom said aloud, "We Didn't Bring A Camera!"
It truly was impressive for a grade school boy!
Days later it was on the local news when it took off from the airport in Tulsa.

I love the Super Guppy. Every time it goes to Oshkosh its a show stopper. Honestly a flying legend, and maybe even a hero for the work it has done.

Ive seen a super guppy at the Tillamook Air Museum in Tillamook, Oregon. Fascinating plane.

I worked for Boeing and had the opportunity to go inside the Dream Lifter several times. It is like being inside a cathedral. A quarterback could practice his hail Mary long bombs the space is so high and so long.

I never heard of the Super Guppy until this afternoon. I watched a Smithsonian documentary about it. Also in the same day this popped up. Whoever says our phones aren’t watching us is insane.

Worked for Boeing as an Aerospace Engineer, also grew up loving planes. Ive always loved the Super Guppy. Engineering heavy lifter marvel. It just needs a updated paint scheme--the Aliens monster comes to mind

Engines upside down?!! T-56’s have two styles, C-130; engine under props. P-3 w/ engine over props. It depends on where the propeller gear box is mounted.
