As a Spaniard, I will say that, while we do have some progressive policies like these, we have plenty of backwards policies and ideologies, as well as a far-right parties problem, like everywhere else. I know that I sound as a case of "the grass always seems greener...", but don't take us like some kind of socio-capitalist utopia.

There's some interesting things happening at the federal level concerning harm reduction, but we're a ways off from this. In the meanwhile, US citizens should utilize nonprofits, like dancesafe and punk rock saves lives. There is some great stuff happening at a grassroots level. Stay safe, kids <3

My state has billboards up, they recently (July 1) started having Fentanyl test strips available online. And I’m in a deep red state, I was pleasantly surprised but we’ve been very impacted by the opioid crisis so I’m glad the state is finally doing something. Narcan is also available, & treatment resources for those trying to quit.

A little off-topic, but price gouging of pharmaceutical drugs already makes no sense to me; if you as a company charge medications so much that many potential customers can't afford them, then how are you going to make money off those medications in the long-term with only the wealthy top percentage of the population being able to afford them? Personally, I feel the federal government needs to have some form of price control to ensure that we don't pay an absurd amount for prescriptions compared to other developed countries. If a bottle of pills in say Germany costs $6.00, that same bottle of pills shouldn't cost more then 50% extra here in the U.S., which would be $9.00 in this case. I'm not saying pharmaceutical companies don't deserve to make profit for their research & development, but they shouldn't be able to charge insane prices for their life saving products that most uninsured Americans can't afford.
