We have been waiting 2 weeks for someone to get back to us... We are looking forward and hoping to get a reply soon. My husband was the one who made contact. It's been 12 years for me. The pain is debilitating. It's daily. Nothing has worked. We are also in TX. How long before one can travel home on an airplane?

I was diagnosed with occipital neuralgia about a year now and I don’t think these doctors take it seriously. I waited a very long time to see the neurologist and then he sent me for neck therapy, and that didn’t work so he had me take an injection in my R occipital nerve in the upper back of my neck and told me to come back for another injection in the left occipital nerve if I was still getting the triggers (I call the pain and discomfort triggers) I have been suffering with this for more than a year and still having pain and discomfort although it’s not as bad now, maybe till the injection wares off. I really don’t want to keep taking these injections because I don’t know what is the long term side effects, but I’m also scared of surgery, although they didn’t suggest it. I’m 74 in a few months and it’s getting harder to go through this on a regular basis and I also think it affects memory. Thanks for sharing your story, I’ll be following up with my doctor to see what’s next
