I live in Australia. True, in the cities, you are unlikely to run into many problems with venomous animals. Out in the countryside, just a little bit of common sense. Again, check with the locals, and read what's available online about the area you are in.

I've been to Australia twice and haven't seen any of those creatures. You made a good point where you're not likely to get attacked unless the animal feels provoked. Australia is a wonderful and beautiful part of the world. Its good to be aware of the areas you are going to. Ask questions wherever you go.

If you don't want to be eaten by a shark ride a push bike while you are in the water. There is no record of anyone being taken off a bike by a shark so it must be safe.

Welcome to Australia! 🇦🇺
You have to use sunscreen to prevent the skin cancer.

I’m loving your Aussie adventures, Eli. Yes, we have deadly wildlife but none are commonly encountered in everyday life.

This is a land that has to put crocodile warning signs at the beach, it has spiders with flesh-eating venom, and it has a plant whose touch can drive men to suicide over the pain. While it's true that most things aren't actively trying to kill you, there are enough natural horrors there to make one pause if he values his life or sanity.

As an Australian I find these claims amusing. I would happily spend time in the bush and other than swimming in rivers in the north I will be safe. Now in Canada and US they have bears, moose and mountain lions that are a real risk…and often kill people.

The animals that kill humans the most in Australia are horses and cows; approx 60 deaths per year.

Deaths by sharks and crocodiles happen once or twice a year.

Thank you so much for clearing this! I live in Australia and you will barely encounter snakes, spiders & sharks, the last time I encountered a snake was years ago!

Oh how I would love to visit Australia. Yes I totally agree, if we all use common sense and know what you can and can’t touch, go near etc; it will be fine.

I have a friend who moved there from Pennsylvania for health reasons.
Every now & then she'd tell me she was stunk by jellyfish or sea lice and last year got bit by a brown snake.

I can assure you I have seen king brown snakes in the middle ring suburbs of Brisbane and bush turkeys in the inner city. Likewise many regional towns next to luxury beach houses

I live in Victoria and I’m 42. I walk and hike trails a lot. I’ve only seen one snake in the wild my entire life.
