I love the idea that because of the island's topography, any freshwater that COULD be drawn from underground channels is unable to reach the top and as a result, everything is dried up but the cave below has developed a separate ecosystem which is capable of sustaining such a lush variety of flora.

Also, if you build a nether portal on the island you'd only be a few hundred blocks from a bastion and a fortress (head towards the red forest they're both close to each other.)
Only problem is that there's a lot of bridging to get there. Also, this is on Bedrock btw idk if it's the same for java
