Politics in Hollywood are never, ever going to be separated. it's a bummer, but it's the truth. Being a devil's advocate here...Hollywood caters to the public ,you and me and anyone else reading this. Forgive my simplicity here,... it's about getting butts in seats.
When it comes to something like a war, studios cannot risk offending anyone who may be coming into the theater. That includes people who have solid opinions on both sides. so while this isn't right, it has happened before quite a few times... and it will happen for many years more....In fact it will happen as long as hollywood exists.

It's ridiculous to drop her for Scream 7. Do they not realize how integral her character is for the franchise as it stands? They developed an entirely new storyline around her and Jenna's character. Yet, because Melissa "said things" that hurt feelings, they're gonna fire her thus nuking Scream 7 and the franchise from the point where they returned in Scream 5, killing off Dewey, and making Sam the daughter of Billy Loomis... huge heavy hitting plot developments... only to toss her aside over politics? Yeah ok. They already drove Neve Campbell away, why not ruin this series further by creating an even bigger franchise obstacle. Nice going Paramount, hope your conscience and delicate sensibilities are ok.

IF A TREE falls in the middle of the woods and nobodies around to hear it does it make a sound? Only if the tree is sacked because it fell over! She doesn't even really post on social media.. even if she said comments that people didn't like 99.9% of people going to see the movie would not know she said it! I guarantee if Jenna said it they wouldn't fire her! This is crazy.. Watch them run to Neve now with a dumb truck of money and I hope, as big a fan of Scream as I am, that the rest of the cast walk away!
