In Japan we soak that clams for long time in the salt water so they can spit out the sands before boiling and seems like it works.

Clams are tricky, lots of grit! If you have access to cockles they tend to be less gritty because they stay on top or near the top of the sand. We used to be able to just steam those when I was a kid, but all the other types we boiled, yeah.
