Monster are not great lumbering beasts marching through the streets making widows and orphans. There often small normal looking even, monsters whole power comes from how none of us can look and recognize them it’s what makes them so terrifying. And when we do see one we abhor it and speak of how obvious it is that it was a master all along. And we know the next one we look different sound different and act different but it will be a monster all the same and we will learn nothing.

I watched this movie for a school assignment and we each had to write an essay on if we were in the position of SMJ character, would we do the same. Once the essays were graded we were told that 75% of both the boys and girls in my class said no they wouldnt, where me and the other 25% said yes. Myself and one of the student that said no then read out our essays to the class, and at the end, the teacher asked if anyone would change their mind, half the class raised their hands. Where only a few of the 25% that said yes raised their hand, and the other students that raised their hands were ones that said no.
This movie taught me that there are movies that need to be discussed as well as rewatched to see both points of view. It also taught me and everyone else that there are times when you need to cross a line to get to see tomorrow. The agent obviously had never been through anything like that before where SMJ was the guy they called for the interrogations and had done so for many years. Of course she is going to question everything because she only knew of everything being black and white, now she has seen the grey.
