Physical media is the best, there is no argument to be made. Itâs a little inconvenient at times and may cost more money to build a collection up, but at least you actually own them. It canât be taken away from you by the production company, it canât be altered after the fact by them, and it doesnât require internet service. It may take up physical space to buy blu-rays, dvds, and CDs, but that also has the benefit of making you aware of what media you actually like and care about, so it will also mentally limit how much money you spend on them, and which ones you like enough to keep around. And that in turn makes you more appreciative of the films, shows and music you like. Most people who use Netflix or Hulu donât care what theyâre watching they just turn on the tv and click the app open and just leave it playing. Streaming services take away the value that you would otherwise get from consuming media.

Personally, I prefer physical media over streaming. You have a copy of the content in your possession. No sudden missing or altered content because the studio edited it. The content usually plays correctly. For example, no out of sync issues with the audio and video, or no reduction in video quality. For instance, pixelation on the screen. The audio isnât compressed to the point where you have to raise the volume to almost max just to hear common dialogue.

Netflixâs DVD rental side was still useful in serving a few niche markets that lacked sufficient internet infrastructure to support streaming. My Aunt and Uncle who live in the Northwoods of the Upper Midwest were still getting Netflix through DVDâs up until they shuttered the whole thing last year.

Should be a continued demand for physical media for aslong as buying a digital copy is treated as buying a license to watch said media. They can pull media at anytime regardless whether or not you paid full price or just rented it. I feel that if i paid full price companies should not be able to pull access to media
