Sam is the first artist that made me feel confident not to care so much about perfecting the details of realism but instead just have fun with it and still giving better result somehow even better than when i tried to do it realistically

The goggles, especially the nose-covering part, is so exceptionally done, he really knows how to stylize in a way that’s accurate to real life without being hyperrealism, like a wonderful beautification of our realm with his strokes!
*goes for the whole art piece, just the goggles are what drew me in (surprisingly, as the surroundings of the character is so surreal to me in a nice, dreamy way, like i can feel and taste the water myself, and see it for all its glory, but the way Sam did the goggles is for some reason more inspiring lol)
I know why, it’s because she seems so alive! Like she can breathe air and such like me. She is alive, basically, because of how he painted her.
