Fully agree. We took our car on the highway late at night and did the test using different cruise control speeds. We saw the current economy rate was 4.3 on the Dusty with windows open and then 4.1 with aircon. As you go faster you can see the economy goes worse

I like switching the ac on every time I have to slow down in town driving and when going downhill. It helps with engine braking and prolonging my brake linings. That also doesn't increase fuel consumption as I'm not accelerating at that time, so it's free ac, then π
. Different story on extremely hot days, then I just leave the ac on π
You'd be surprised at how much the ac compressor slows your car down, especially with a smaller engined vehicle. I turn it off on uphills for the same reaso

Bottom line: Open windows at high speeds use a lot of fuel. It's just common sense. There's a lot of drag. Open all your windows at 160km/h, and you'll find outπ€π€

If you driving at a speed under 60 it probably means you in slow traffic and I don't know if we can do this in certain areas, because then smash n grab just becomes grab π.
These guys have perfected the art of smashing windows and diving in, let's not take away the opportunity for them to use this awesome skill
