30 yrs on SSRI's and SNRI's, and I can say without a doubt, without a plan to treat the trauma, it's a stop gap at best.

Please keep your honest and truthful videos coming. I wish you would have been around 40 yrs ago. With that said, doctors like you can now help the younger generation from the roller coaster of medication that sadly don't work for most.

Excellent excellent video!! Once the truth was finally unable to be hidden & we learned no test for ā€˜brain chemistry imbalanceā€™ was finally accepted as fact should have been a watershed moment. Great video!

thank you. I am withdrawing from zoloft and its very very hard even though i am still on an extremely low dosage. Its a shame doctors prescribe them like candy because they are extremely dangerous in my opinion.

That's why I have to take them at bedtime & wake up feeling hung over. If I take them during the day I literally feel ill and depressed. How is that?

There are a few reasons Big Pharma might not support broader social safety nets or reject exploitative labor conditions as solutions for mental health. First, the industry profits significantly from medications such as anti-depressants, which are often seen as the primary solution to mental health issues. Addressing root causesā€”such as financial insecurity, lack of access to basic needs, and workplace stressā€”would likely reduce the demand for medications, impacting their revenue.

Moreover, social safety nets and improved labor practices would require significant policy changes, which often involve political and financial risks. While the industry does fund some mental health initiatives, many argue that these efforts focus on symptoms rather than underlying social and economic conditions. Pharmaceutical companies also have strong influence in politics, and supporting systemic changes might conflict with other interests they protect through lobbying.

Ultimately, while some might say Big Pharma avoids these issues to protect profits, itā€™s also a complex situation shaped by industry incentives, political influence, and a longstanding approach to treating mental health primarily through medication.

Or they can sometimes create much worse anxiety, or even lead to atypical homicidal or violent behaviour. Psychiatry and the courts still in complete denial about this!

In rehab i was told drugs aren't the answer to my problems, and was promptly polydrugged with a pharmaceutical cocktail to help cure my "chemical imbalance"... the hypocrisy in psychiatry is stunning.

SĆ³, what causes depression? Is it just the environment? If antidepressants donā€™t solve the problem, what does? Psychotherapy, exercise and appropriate diet? These are honest questions.

I've given up trying to come off Nardil. I was dropping 0.1mg a month! I reduced from 60mg over years. Whenever I reach 46mg I endure a living hell beyond words. My brain is so used to it over 13 years I am now 500 times worse than before I went on it. I guess that's the money making big pharma plan. šŸ˜¢

No they don't fix depression, but they help. Just need a balanced, honest, judicious approach.

All I know is that in Winter I am nearly unable to function, just zero pleasure pretty much, extreme fatigue, canā€™t think straight. Iā€™d tried everything except antidepressants, moving farther South, light therapy, exercise, vitamin D, getting my levels for everything checked, etc., and nothing worked consistently. Then yesterday I decided to try Wellbutrin and I feel like life is pretty good again and I can be productive. I donā€™t think this is necessarily a bandaid solution because this is just something to do with my brain not working right in the Winter. I will still do all the other stuff I mentioned alongside taking an antidepressant, but this is a night and day difference compared to how I was feeling.

Yes. And the antidepressants also made me more impulsive. I did things i was not happy I did, and I typically would not have done. Really regret being on them . I got off as soon as I could but that took a long time .
