Do you ever feel like you don’t fully fit in anywhere? That’s what life can feel like when you’re AuDHD — both autistic and ADHD.

➡️ With autistic people, I sometimes feel like I’m “not autistic enough.”
➡️ With ADHD’ers, my sensory needs and communication differences aren’t always understood.
➡️ And with neurotypicals… honestly, I just come across as awkward or “too much.”

Living at the intersection of autism and ADHD can be incredibly isolating — like you don’t quite belong in any space. But if you’ve ever felt the same, you’re not alone. 💛

I’m sharing my AuDHD journey so we can make sense of these struggles together.

Hi there! I am in the same boat, but leaning more towards adhd. I'm in the process of getting a diagnosis, but it was quite the rollercoaster ride.
My psychologist had me take a ton of tests, and two 'diagnoses' fit the bill for me.
First is PTSD. A lot of the audhd symptoms can also be rooted in ptsd. Forgetfulness, being overwhelmed by people, horrible sense of time, being unable to concentrate etc.
Second is a personality disorder (I'm in category C, avoidant personalities)
I don't have an official diagnosis yet, that takes more testing, but this is what came out so far. Maybe it helps you (or others) somehow!

Did you have some kind of trauma in your past? That might explain it.
Either way, please see a therapist! One who is specialised in autism and adhd in women! It shows differently in men and women, and only recently, the doctors are starting to acknowledge that.
I know it may take a long time to see a professional, but it's definitely worth the time! YOU are worth the time and effort to find out ❤

Personally, I recognise a lot of what you are experiencing - especially as I am self-diagnosed and north of fifty - which adds another layer of scepticism by those around you...and in my own head; a weird form of imposter syndrome with masochistic overtones, if you will!
