Here's one for you. My company offers PTO and Unpaid Time Off. You can use PTO anytime, up to the 144hrs you get per year. But you have to request 2 weeks in advance for unpaid time off. Of which you have 80hrs per year.
So if I am sick or someone in my household is sick and I have to take care of them I can't use unpaid time off. I have to use PTO. We also have 3 weeks a year we are down, out of work. During this time we have to use OUR PTO if we want a check.
