Thank you for this. I love hearing about World War 2 heroes. Also, I often think about World War 1. I think about all the American soldiers who died in combat there: 53,402. How much different would our lives be if those men had survived, and made families?

I have a hand written letter from Mr. Schultz.
My mother wrote to him about reading his books to us kids. He was kind enough to write back.
He was what was known as a "beautiful person".
