I read September House this month and I can't recommend it enough. It was everything you said and so well written! I have so many fun books to read thanks to you Sinead. I'm thinking of reading Play Nice next.

I wasn't planning to reread The September House for the third time this year in September of course. My husband wanted to try it out though so we buddy read it! Awesome book every time IMO.
Just finished When the Wolf Comes Home by Nat Cassidy and am starting The Hacienda by Isabel Canas today. I decided my fall reads would be spooky books that have house or home in the title and The Hacienda also does a nod to Hispanic Heritage month here in the U.S.

I like to read cozy autumnal stories in September. I just finished The Pumpkin Spice Cafe and I'm currently reading Practical Magic. I'll save the full on horror for October... and the list is LONG 😂

I’m re-reading Practical Magic right now and it’s getting me excited for Autumn. I almost saved it for October but I think it feels more like a September book.

Love your recommendations...just finished Dark Matter last night, a very good eerie tale, well written, felt like I was right there with Jack! Thank you for all your content. Gratitude from Southern California ❤😊

I’m currently reading A Haunting on the Hill by Elizabeth Hand. It has a nice September vibe. Happy Autumn Equinox, Sinead!

Ordered The September House here in rural Australia two months ago and still waiting. Think it might be a belated read unfortunately. Can’t wait. I’ve never been a fan of suspense… it’s doing me in!! 😂

Thanks for suggesting …..
the Reformatory( clever depiction of 50s southern America; what went on inside was more gripping than what went on outside; different kind of horror)
Bloom by Delilah Dawson ; beautiful , slyly humorous and grimly excellent .
House of Leaves….dont know what to say…not read anything like it…please comment Shinead, if you have finished it……..glad I read it but it was hard work with the stories within stories and the “footnotes”….interesting take on haunted house horror.
…and the Greenman of Eshwood Hall ( Jacob Kerr) small but perfect.
Thankyou so much ; please keep up the reviews

I think this is the youtube channel I didn't know I was looking for. I just took out The Poison Thread by Laura Purcell. Hoping it's a good 1!

I read The September House. It does have humor but for me it got boring very fast. The FL detachment to all things happening is conserning....the ending was an refreshing twist for me. At a point I read just to get to the ending and was starting to not care.
