I have just ordered one, and hope I get it to work, as I know nothing about computers and software set up required for this unit. It will be a stab in the dark, to what menus I click on. If all fails, I will give it away to someone who can use it. Here, s hoping.

The (tr)uSDX kit is a much better value since it will do SSB. I see it as the Beofeng of HF rigs. Cheap but gets the job done. I just finished building one, and I really like it. The built in mic makes it a super small all mode rig. It uses TS-480 CAT commands. Hopefully you can include this protocol in your software package.

Nice setup! I have mine with a raspberry pi and a 8” tablet. Light enough to toss in a bag and take on a hike!

Its not going to fail... It is my belief that being able to use HF SSB is vital for emergency comms.
