They didn’t even want to do Godzilla & finally gave in after multiple times. They spent equal or more than the original budget proposed. Smh The comic for the OG idea was tight too. I still appreciate the 1998 Godzilla, though I understand people’s dislike for it more now.

I will say, the only advantage Devlin’s script has over Rossio and Elliot’s is that they kept the nuclear themes at least somewhat intact. The idea of separating Godzilla from that origin now is something you just can’t fathom these days.
