As a 20-plus yr firefighter and Tesla owner, i agree with the guy. I did extensive research before i purchased mine and I put a training for our department together with the help of Tesla techs on how to respond to EV cars. Bottom line things happen, and everyone have their own taste in vehicles. I love my job and my car! Personally, there are more important things in life instead of getting into a pissing match over subjects like this.

Yes. Rarely, but when they do, it's almost inextinguishable. And far far more toxic smoke than from an ICE fire.

Charging EVs is not convenient. Gouging the earth for lithium worse than drilling the earth for gas. If a fire starts in an EV, it’s a lithium fire more than likely which is a pain to put out. Imagine having to deal with that after an accident. Lol even if the firefighters do manage to put it out the batteries will keep spontaneously catching fire again and again. Also EVs are heavy and once everyone’s driving them the excessive braking (regen or not) is going to increase the amount of brake dust pollution in the air. Prepare for a plethora of interstitial lung disease diagnoses which have no cure. I know of ppl whose lungs got messed up because of excessive brake dust exposure at a manufacturing plant. Imagine smog but it is brake dust. Oof.
