Never! We would always choose to restore a beautiful timber floor wherever possible. This is a stunning herringbone pattern Tasmanian Oak hardwood floor which came up mint!! Sanded back to raw timber with the big machine belt sander, went around all the edges, scraped the corners, trowel filled the gaps and finally coated with Berger-Seidle water based polyurethane in a NordicWhite UltraMatt finish 👌🏻

Parquet is such an asset in a room, even the aged colours have an appeal. It's so great to see it stripped and restored in a contemporary colour.
Just imagine, somewhere, a parquet floor is being pulled up.

My nans house had pine parquet floor, all through the downstairs. I got the job as a kid, some 40 years ago, of sanding the floor (before it was easy to hire an industrial sander), and my knees never forgave me. The floor looked great after though. I wish I could have afforded to buy that house when she passed!! ❤️

My parents had parquet floors in their home. They are my favorites. The craftsmanship and color patterns are so beautiful to me. If I ever buy my own home, it will probably be the first renovation I do.
