Note for those worried: most people removed their green wallpapers when they found out it was poisoning them. If your old house has green walls but you and everyone in your house have no symptoms, you are almost certainly not dealing with it covering your walls

Fun fact: it's possible that Scheele's green contributed to Napoleon's death. The home where he was exiled to on Saint Helena had walls painted with Scheele's green. The island was also very wet, which could have caused the paint to release arsenic. Analysis of his hair revealed extremely heightened levels of arsenic, but arsenic was also common in other victorian products. It's definitely not cut-and-dry, but the paint very well could have put another burden on his very ill body.

And probably one of the reasons green is associated with villains, toxicity, disgust and poison in media today, similar to how purple is related to royalty due to how rare the colour is and the only time people see purple is from a piece of royal clothing.
