When Israel pulled out of Gaza they gave the people the keys to the many greenhouses that are used to grow food and flowers. The hope Israel had was that Gaza would become a floral and produce exporting economy. But after Hamas was voted in the greenhouses were burned down. Now the people are unable to financially support themselves and are dependent on foreign aid to feed their citizens.

People forget that in the 80s there was not 1 checkpoint between gaza and the west bank. You could drive from one to the other no hassle in a couple hours
