Even more mind blowing, if you accelerate at the same rate you accelerate when you are falling on earth without air resistance (1g) until you are half way to Andromeda then decelerate at 1g until you get there, you will probably live to see it (it will take about 30 years). Anyone left on earth would say it took significantly longer.

You get there alot quicker going light speed. Time is relative, meaning time slows down for the person travelling. So going to proxima might be 4 years for the people on Earth observing you and waiting for a call to say you made it, but as the traveller. You will get there alot quicker, practically minutes.

Time is an illusion, if I go to the nearest galaxy at the speed of light, the travel time for me is almost instantaneous but for people back on earth not going the speed of light will perceive me as standing still when in fact what you really perceive is the light photons I left behind... If I wanted to come back to earth at the same speed I would've been traveling for 2.5 million years to the people on earth but to me I'll be the same age, kinda like "planet of the apes"... Time dilation is weird💯

If you're traveling "at the speed of light", the travel times are instantaneous .
Yes, it requires 8 minutes for light to travel from the Sun to the Earth, for the stationary outside observer. The light particles themselves do not experience that time interval. For the individual light particles the travel time is zero seconds.
