i read some sort of in-between version when i was a kid, the stepsisters cut their toes & heels off to fit the shoe but their eyes didn't get picked out at the wedding. ive never heard of a version where the father was dead as well as the mother tho
also, azeleas dolls games have been my favourite dress up games since i was a kid, im in university now and i still use them to make characters <3
