Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway has opened (March 2023) at Disneyland in Anaheim, California. The title is playfully misleading, as it actually features the Runnamuck Railroad and Goofy as the train engineer. Micky & Minnie are the headliners, and many other beloved characters make appearances too including Pluto, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Pete, Huey, Dewey, Louie, Horace Horsecollar, and Chuuby. This attraction is extremely family friendly and American Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant.

This attraction located adjacent to Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin in the impressively renovated Mickey’s Toontown. The Disneyland version of the ride is staged in the El CapiTOON Theater and retro model train hobby shop called EnginEars Souvenirs. The model train-themed store features a wide variety of railroad references, props, and gags.

The Disneyland version is based on the original that debuted at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Bay Lake, Florida. Both the Florida and California versions are dark rides with spacious four people per bench seating and 32 person per train capacity, but the queues are very different (but equally enjoyable) experiences, and the Disneyland version includes an additional barn/picnic sequence.
