I worked with a chap who worked in Africa. He came across vast areas of land, highly secure with rough diamonds lying around on the surface. The big diamond companies restrict access because the rarity of diamonds is, as you say, based on rarity. However, they are not as abundant as stone rocks, but they are not as rare as is made out. Ho hum, we are manipulated at every level.

i think you should record audiobooks. I think there would be a market for it. Lord of the Rings and some philosophy or history would be good.

My analogy is this.
The economy is like a pie.
Money is like slices of that pie.
Printing money doesn't make the pie bigger.
It makes the slices smaller.

Just think, if you put Β£10,000 in a safe and buried it in your garden, it's still not safe from government bungling.

Brilliantly put. One detail I feel is important to point out also is that the prices don't rise immediately after the money is issued. Those who get the money first pay lower prices and by the time it trickles through, price inflation is already happening.

I suppose the only thing I could add Simon is, the concept of limiting supply . This is the method by which diamonds are made expensive , they were quite common in certain locations . And were often to be found on beaches, but by carefully limiting their supply they have remained expensive. πŸ˜‚

I can't remember who made the quote but it went something like "If money grew on trees, it would be as worthless as leaves".

I'm not a fan of shorts, but these are not the usual 60 seconds of drivel! Well done and keep them coming...

Diamonds are one of the most common gems, they're just kept off the market so as not to flood it

The less of us Whyte people there are the more valuable and sought after we become. Don’t you feel valuable? Don’t you feel sought after?

Thank you for understanding this. Sick and tired of policitians and central bankers going on about supply chains and overheated economies, while they created the problem in the first place!
