I started doing that over 40 years ago The trick is besides having a gate that will open under load. Is to be moving before the gate is opened

Harder than it looks. Seen it go wrong a lot of times 😅 Most drivers will say nope. There's no app for this one, kids, just years of trial and error. Great job

Nice pour driver. This is how he did it! Set your chains. Hit the PTO. Raise the bed to 45-60 degrees. Pop the gate locks and roll back watching your mirrors to stay centered and your gravel flow equal. The only reason backing is better is you can never be 100% sure how far one load will spread and don't want gaps or excess at the road. It is not something that just anyone can climb into a cab and do, but now that most dumps are automatic transmissions it made the art of working the clutch for a even pour obsolete.

Did that in my younger days. It’s been 40 years. No way I’d even get close today. Mad respect.

A driver that knows how to use his/her mirrors..........nicely done.........just the right angle on the bed.............a lot of things have to be right to achieve this level of perfection

Our hauler does this yearly on our 3/4 mile driveway /private drive. The difference is they do this uphill and downhill as well. It saves dressing the road up by a huge amount. We still grade after but it's quick. Western North Carolina mountains here.
