This is a short, animated visual proof showing the sum of the infinite geometric series with first term 6/7 and ratio 1/7, which in turn allows us to compute the sum of the series of powers of 1/7 and determine an interesting base 7 representation of 1.

Usually we use the formula
S = a_1 / (1 – r) but the visual proof makes it much easier to understand with the eye and I'm glad you can help others understand it more easily

I got used to counting in different bases whilst arguing with Tesla conspiracy theorists. Its easier with even numbers, but so long as you avoid the extremes, 0.(one less than the base number, recurring) is always equal to one.
In base 6, 0.555• = 1. In base 12, 0.¤¤¤• = 1

Fun fact, Tesla's magic triangle disappears if you consider other bases. Generally, you want a principle to be consistent however you count. It's really the + and - that do all the heavy lifting in mathematics, not numbers
