The only thing that concerns me with my HRX VYA is there is a rattling sound from the engine area that you can hear at low RPMs I briefly saw a YouTube video of an older Honda mower that had an issue with the bolts that connect the engine to deck becoming “ loose” he removed the bolts and used locktite on them. I have yet to look at it with mine

Do NOT buy a new HRX217! Everything about the mower is fantastic EXCEPT THE ENGINE! The GCV 200 is an absolute nightmare of an engine. It leaks oil from the valve cover when brand new. Mine began to leak oil from other places AND burn oil with less that 20 hours on it. I’ve got a close connection with my local dealer and have been told this is a common issue. Now, with just over 50 hours on the mower, the engine has locked up and the cylinder is destroyed. The 5 year warranty ended only one month before the engine failed. If you didn’t know, Honda stopped producing lawn mowers in 2023 and all of them out there are just left over stock. Because of this, there are ZERO new GCV200 engines available. There are also no parts available to rebuild this engine. Now, myself and hundreds of others, are left with fairly new mowers that have to be thrown in the trash. I suggest looking for an older Honda mower or purchasing a new, higher end TORO or equivalent.

Last December I picked up a 2 year old VYA on Marketplace for $250. It was 15 minutes from my house.
It was in great shape. Only issue was it surged. Seafoam and Mechanic in a bottle fixed the surge...I didn't even need to manually clean the carburetor. I also transferred the warranty into my name....
