Communication is the backbone of complex social behaviors... And whales have HUGE backbones.

There's a great, recent video from Dr. Geoff Lindsay talking about this, breaking out what "words" we've learned and how we think they express themselves.

He makes a great point that we have no idea if these are words. It also fits all the criteria for other forms of self-expression like...music!

I can’t wait to talk to animals and help them like a real angel. We truly are blessed.

Find the whale words for warnings and play it quietly from ships and nets. Would be an interesting experiment.

It is fair to infer that since they lack facial expression and skin transparency (blushing), whales may have a complex emotional language to compensate.

Finally, we can have something close to Darwin the talking dolphin in SeaQuest DSV.

I've been looking into this for quite a while and it's great to see that it's now making strides.

I believe it is also a similar way with some singing birds. Adding one more repetition to their call makes it a different meaning

Whales can talk to each other with an actual language and elephants worship the moon... I'm learning all sorts of things this month.

The day we learn to fully communicate with another actual species will be the day I finally will have hope for mankind. Until then, we will be locked in an echo chamber of a wholly human perspective of life on Earth.

Maybe they have been humoring us all along because their intelligence is far higher than ours. They're just waiting for us to figure that out. Or maybe they've tried talking to us so many times while we sit and stare that they've just accepted that we're too dumb to comprehend. 😅

If we can make a communication with something even a thrid of the complexity of human speech it would be one of the most important breakthroughs in history.

If were able to talk and even share thoughts and opinions with whales then we can shed some of that human superiority of ours.

We wouldnt be the only species that can talk.
