I still remember driving it Italy in a tiny rented Fiat Panda. The other vehicles all seemed to be crawling in the right lane or speeding in the left lane — if there were two lanes.
The right lane often contained tiny three-wheeled farm vehicles. The left lane often contained Mercedes and other fast cars who would drive right up behind anyone foolish enough to obey the speed limit and flash their lights demanding to pass.
The signage was inadequate and this was before GPS, so my new wife and I were on the edges of our seats trying not to miss a turn. It was an adventure!

We used to have those sort of speed monitor things on our work vehicles. Supposedly it was supposed to beep at you if you exceed 80mph, although the thing would constantly go off at like 72-73. Allegedly, if it caught you going 90mph or higher that was instant termination. It would also beep if you brake too quickly or turn too sharply. I got used to hearing that thing multiple times every ride 😂

Had a Chevy cavalier rental that would read speed limit signs and had variable cruise control that would adjust accordingly. It was Christmas break for me and I was traveling home. Took some back roads. Every time I passed a school zone they had the 25mph when kids present sign. Car would read that and slow down to 25, problem was there is no sign at the end of the zone to tell the car it could speed back up. Was funny the first couple times. After that just became annoying. No beeping thankfully.
