Hm... this is a discussion I guess. I always consider the quirk vestiges something different from a soul. Like a computer backup of one's info. We see people get their quirks removed but they're still themselves.
They're just missing that backup. I never considered the vestige to be a soul. But if I do then it comes down to the next part.
But if I do consider vestiges the soul. Izuku hurting Shiggy's soul was only viable by Kudo's plan of forcibly sending part of OFA directly over to Shiggy. It's not something Izuku does normaly.
So this should mean that Izuku should have to directly hit Mahito while transfering over a vestige/quirk of AFO to damage Mahito. Similar to how Mechamaru fired a Simple Domain at Mahito.
Next is the OFA vestiges fighting back against a Idle Transfiguration. I can see it happening honestly speaking but if its under the circumstance of a domain expansion I doubt it cause Mahito should be able to apply the Sure Hit on every single vestige automatically logically speaking.

Even if deku could atack the soul, I dont think he has the stones to kill transfigured humans. mahito would probably break his spirit pretty easily. One or two innocent bystanders is all it would take, let alone dekus friends.
