Oh no- I made a huge mistake, I installed all the trim and forgot to drywall.
Just joking, this is actually a commercial warehouse, and the plans call for ½” OSB on the interior walls.
Not only does it make a durable wall surface for a shop- it helps to brace the entire building.
The plans call for one nail every 6” on the edges and every 12” in the field.
We used 2 3/8” long ring shank nails and installed the OSB with the smooth side out.
Next the painters primed all the walls with Sherwin Williams ProBlock Primer.
This oil-based primer did a great job covering up all the ink on the OSB.
They caulked any gaps that were noticeable, and finally rolled two coats of eggshell ProMar 200 in “Repose Gray”.
We like this color because it hides dirt but keeps the space bright.
This OSB will hold up better than drywall and can be used to hang all sorts of tools and cabinets, and it’s great for running electrical conduit and airlines.
We’ve got more to come on this project- we still need to hook-up water and sewer, there’s plumbing and electrical trim out, and concrete aprons to pour- So make sure to like and follow. ‪@hausplans‬

At work, they put OSB in the bar bathroom. People kept punching holes in the drywall. After it was textured and painted, looks just like drywall but it fights back when it gets punched.

And it makes it so you don't have to find studs to hang things in the wall, very useful in a shop

Almost a Barndominium. I'd live in it when my wife is mad at me. 😂

I’m a home builder in Alabama and I built my house. Used repose gray as the interior wall color, absolutely love it!

The Diefenbacher press that makes those OSB sheets cranks out around 12 12x24 sheets per cycle that are then cut into 4x8 for American markets and 2x10 for Japan.

When I built my garage, I was a smoker as were most of my friends. Knowing that the Friday nights were quite smokey in there, I painted the walls with Buck Skin White. It was a great match for nicotine stain.

If you want to go even more rad do it with 5 /8" plywood. SUPER super strong walls.

Million Dollar Garages is such a relatable show. I never know just what to do with my excess cash and property

Plus it’s a little cheaper than drywall, mud, tape, etc. I installed it in our workshop and love it. Great job and it looks fantastic. 🇨🇦

Commercial shop I would put steel panels over all of them😅 worked in plenty of shops and fire hazards all around and riding the lightning or gas shoots sparks everywhere

The caulking makes it look soooo much better . GJ

I might try putting caulking on the edges before putting the OSB up and I would think vents need to be 2” on top and bottom to prevent mold growth behind. Looks good !
