Amazing trip!! You’ve inspired me!! I would be concerned about the ice cleanliness, glacier ice can have frozen bacteria from old diseases that we haven’t had to deal with for a while and god knows what else - I’m not sure how to filter for that! 😅

Fun fact: some scientists did the same thing you did, but in antartica, with a remaining sample of glacier. It made bubbles in the whiskey, so they realized the ice had little bubbles of air in it. They realized that they could analyze this air and create a timeline of the atmospheric gaz composition because glaciers are compressed snow that traps air through time. This is especially useful in climate science, to know the atmospheric CO2 concentrations through time.
