Thank you so much for talking about this. I am a cardiac patient, have had three aortic valve replacements. When I sleep my arms go numb, unprovoked. I am a back sleeper, not sleeping on my arms. I will be having a convo with my Dr tomorrow about this.

Not exactly the same thing but I had something similar except way more traumatic. 10 years ago I overdosed on both Heroin and Xanax and I nodded out, fell on the floor and when I fell on the floor I was laying on my right arm which was underneath me by my stomach. Simultaneously I stopped breathing to the point where I turned blue and my blood was getting zero oxygen for what I'm told was probably a few hours. The combination of laying on my arm and simultaneously breathing extremely shallow for hours caused my arm to get like 5x it's normal size and fill with fluid which I'm sure u know is called compartment syndrome. Long story long I was found just in time by my mother, God bless her, and the surgeons in the ER basically had to fillet my arm open and drain all the fluid and I had a drain and the whole thing. Came extremely close to losing my arm and I've got a gnarly scar to remind me everyday. Had to relearn how to use my arm/hand with occupational/physical therapy and have extensive ulner nerve damage have no feeling from my elbow all the way down my arm to the tip of my pinky and ring fingers.

I get this after a deep, heavy sleep.

Stress.

When I get it, I get up and take a cold shower. The shivers do wonders.

You can recover from injuries faster by taking cold showers. Those shivers are a form of physical therapy.

I knew of someone with a heroin addiction who went unconscious where her leg was under her an circulation was cut off for hours. She had to have most of her leg amputated and couldn't cope very well with it be comin very co dependent. Sad story. She was young too

Right you are. I collapsed due to hyponatremia and my rt arm/ hand was under my body. It took 7 months to regain 90% of function of my rt arm/ leg/hand. Should see physical therapist to recommend electrical stimulation and intense physical exercises.
