I'm really glad they kept this. I was afraid they were going to nuke it with the Westfall changes in Cataclysm but they kept it.
Not sure how many times you have to /chicken at the chicken now, but it's WAY less than it was in vanilla (you had to do it 100 times in vanilla)
Also, the chicken feed is sold by Farmer Saldean, where the chicken is, being one of the shortest "returns to me with X item" quest in the game.
