The slicer should change settings based on material. You have to tell it that the support material is petg and it will change based on the filament settings. You shouldn't print pla and pets using just one filament profile.

PETG supports for PLA only works for me if the part to be supported is flat. If it stairsteps or has some kind of curve or angle, it has a high failure rate for me

In addition to printing the supports on the bed, use the petg only as the"support interface". Basically just the last layer or two between the support and the part.

I just run it the same temp as pla. 220, also use supports on build plate only. I never let it print supports on too mu prints. Because in the past before i had a mutli material printer i had horrible results wtih pla sticking to pla way yo hood ehen it prints supports on the surface, but when printed on the build plate it works good. Use the same method with petg but use tree supports. Change support speed to half the speed it is now so ot can print the petg at 220.

You need a mechanical anchor for the petg or pla (whatever the support is) to hold on to. You can make anchors in your own print or support from the build plate

Is that what it's called?
like or light lite?

You could use tree supports and activate "supports only on bed"

I print pla at petg temps anyway. Cool tip

You need the supports to be on the bed not directly on top of pla. It looked like that because the two materials are not sticking together.

It works better for organic supports rather than model-supported stuff

I'm a Plumerville and I went into a customers house and found we both share the interests of 3d printing. They told me that a water soluble materials exist, he claims it works wonders for 3d printing support as all you do is wash them away

What are you using here as support materal?

Petg is also good as support for ABS and otherwise ABS is good support for PetG

You need to flush more between filament changes since there is traces of the old filament mixed in the new filament causing poor adhesion and possible poor durability and strength of the printed piece.

For me, I only use petg as the interface layers, not the whole support
