4th tip for non-beginners. Shorten grip position for more power. Biceps, and all muscles have more power when more contracted. It will give you an extra 10% power. Works for power breaking too.

The main things people do wrong and swear they don't are these. Be honest with yourself when reading this or film yourself.
1. Dropping should or Elbow raising the tip up to center ball at the last moment.
2. Poor transition. Nice pre strokes and then a short Jerky stroke
3. No follow through. Have to finish stroke. Don't need to add follow through just finish the stroke.
4. Tightening grip before impact which will cause the tip to dip dramatically. Leads to scooping cueball
5. Cue ahead of 90° before impact. If you do this and do not drop elbow the tip will dip before impact.

Good advice. Stop jacking the cue up, yes it will impart back spin but it does so at the expense of accuracy

I do all of this but still jump the balls. I can get draw. The only way is if I basically swoop down into the ball. If I dont jump the ball, It just becomes a stop shot.

Thhose that get a scoop jump dont hit the cue ball so hard just follow through rule of thumb also only go one tip lower than crnter or sid english that will help a lot to advoid miscues

Pushing the cue through is the most important part as you could do all that but if you don't push the cue through that's all irrelevant

12% of my draws end up being scoop jumps. Maybe the loose grip will help 🤷‍♂
