RECIPE
Ingredients:
For the sauce:
â˘â â 2 tbsp ginger, grated
â˘â â 1 tbsp sesame oil
â˘â â 1 tbsp soy sauce
â˘â â 1 tbsp agave or maple syrup
â˘â â 1/2 tbsp rice vinegar
For the tofu:
â˘â â 1 pack of firm tofu, cubed
â˘â â 30 g cornflour
â˘â â 1 tsp garlic powder or granules
â˘â â 1/2 tsp black pepper
For the rest of the dish:
â˘â â Sticky white rice for 2
â˘â â Spring onion, sliced
â˘â â Sesame seeds
Method:
1.â â In a small bowl, mix the ginger, sesame oil, soy sauce, agave, and rice vinegar to make the sauce. Set aside.
2.â â If serving with rice, get it cooking now.
3.â â Combine the cornflour, garlic powder, and black pepper in a container. Add the tofu cubes, cover, and shake until evenly coated.
4.â â Heat oil in a large non-stick pan. Add the tofu and cook until golden and crispy on all sides.
5.â â Pour the sauce over the tofu, stirring quickly so it coats and caramelises.
6.â â Serve with rice, spring onion, and sesame seeds.
