In general I agree that boruto writes women better. Bur I don't think that this particular moment you brought up in boruto is necessarily better or worse.
It's just 2 different sets of characters from 2 different generations and 2 different stages of life/social development.

Sakura and Ino at this point are also dumbass middle schoolers. It makes sense that they’re assholes. Sarada and Sumire are both older, but are also the only ones in the village who know the truth of what happened with everything and can’t afford to be rivals.
