What's Really Going on at Your Feeder? A 1-minute course taught by 3 Black-capped Chickadees and a Tufted Titmouse. Chickadee A is feeding peacefully at the feeder. When Chickadee B arrives, Chickadee A gets out of the way. Chickadee B likely "outranks" Chickadee A. Chickadee A waits for more room at the feeder. Chickadee B leaves, but Chickadee C arrives. It's on the windy snowy side of the feeder but it's better than nothing. Chickadee A now takes the favored spot on the feeder. Chickadee A likely "outranks" Chickadee C. When a bigger, heavier Tufted Titmouse arrives Chickadee A holds its ground. So the likely pecking order at this feeder: 1. Tufted Titmouse; 2. Chickadee B; 3. Chickadee A; 4. Chickadee C. Filmed in December 2014 in western Massachusetts. For more, visit the Cornell Lab's blog post at blog.allaboutbirds.org/2015/03/11/power-struggles-…

Wow, I always thought they fluttered around because the new arrival startled them!

Okay so my question is this then....A. At your backyard bird feeder stations is there a so called "community" and everyone seems to have a pecking order even outside of there own species...and B. Do certain species seem to have so called "etiquette". For example it seems like during certain parts of the day the bluebirds will all eat in a group...then the doves, etc etc or is that just a quiescence"

Here's several ideas for constructing birdhouses:
Give yourself enough time.
take advantage of done for you boat blueprints.
(I read about these and more from Aviary Magic Method website )

You are mean You should clean off your bird feeders You see they're having a very hard time It's cold and birds feet do get cold regardless of what some may say.
They're looking for food You should have gone out there and knocked off the snow with something and you should have made the food easier to get to they cannot get in that cage ..
It's ridiculous !
What if you were hungry trying to get food out of that cage in those conditions !
How would you like it if you were in their shoes πŸ˜”
