Today’s Topic: BASIC OBEDIENCE - Teach Your Dog to Sit and Lay Down🐶
First Step: Get some dog treats in hand. Take a piece of dog food and hold it over your dog’s head. Keep it right by their nose but just high enough where it forces them to sit down! Once they sit, give them the food🪑🐩🍔
Second Step: Now that your dog is sitting, we’re going to get them to lay down. Sitting in a chair, stick your leg out and hold another piece of dog food under your leg. This will force your dog to have to lay down to get the food! Simple yet effective ✅
PRO TIP: it’s all about repetition with dog training. Doing this once will not solidify the technique but doing it a bunch of times will👊
Last Step: Reward for any eye contact! Eye contact in dog training means that your dog is listening to YOU and not simply doing something for a reward 👀🐕🫵
