Eggers explică într-un interviu că și-a dorit ca Orlok să arate ca un mort viu autentic, până la detaliile de pe tocurile pantofilor săi. Este un look menit să șocheze și să-l facă pe Orlok și mai memorabil pentru publicul contemporan.
