If you aren't familiar, the Kratky growing method is a hydroponic system/method created & named after Dr. Bernard Kratky. It's a way of growing plants suspended above a reservoir that is filled with nutrient rich water. What makes Kratky different from the DWC (deep water culture) method is that there is no use of electricity (pumps & airstones). π§π±
β¨οΈβ¨οΈ This simple setup can be a great way to make sure your Microgreens are watered while stepping away for a day or two without investing in an automated system. The main thing is to make sure you refresh the water every so often so that you don't run into root rot. Which, with Microgreens, doesn't occur often since the turnaround rate is quicker than, say, peppers, adult basil, or tomatoes that are more commonly grown using the Kratky Method. β¨οΈβ¨οΈ
